A significant majority of Manchester City fans are confident that the club will successfully defend their Premier League title by the end of this season.
City closed the gap to league leaders Liverpool to just two points by overcoming a deficit and defeating Brentford 3-1 at the Gtech Community Stadium on Monday. Phil Foden scored three goals to contribute to their ninth consecutive victory in all competitions.
After overcoming their unusual setback, City, who have one more game to play than Liverpool, appear to be formidable contenders as they strive for a fourth consecutive Premier League championship. The aforementioned statement is the overall viewpoint of City fans who recently took part in a MEN survey after the January transfer window came to an end.
Out of the 349 City fans who took part in the survey, an impressive 82 percent of them have shown their support for City to finish in first place by May. Only 16 percent of respondents believe they will place second, a far smaller proportion.
Considering this optimistic perspective, it comes as no surprise that 91 percent of survey respondents are confident that manager Pep Guardiola possesses a team capable of accomplishing Manchester City’s objectives from now until the conclusion of the season. They still have a possibility of achieving another significant Treble and keeping their titles in the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup.
The study revealed that a significant majority of City fans expressed contentment with the current state of the team. Consequently, it is unsurprising that 54 percent of voters indicated their satisfaction with the club’s activities during the January transfer window. City acquired River Plate winger Claudio Echeverri, however, he will remain on loan at the Argentine club until January of next year. Consequently, City did not make an immediate addition to their roster.
35 percent of voters expressed satisfaction with the job done in January, while 11 percent expressed dissatisfaction. Kalvin Phillips, the most prominent player, departed the club last month and joined West Ham United on a loan basis.
