Kyle Walker has admitted that Adama Traore defeated him “fair and square” following their race in Manchester City’s victory against Fulham. Walker made this admission after the race.
A moment that occurred earlier this month at the Etihad Stadium, when Traore surpassed Walker during the second half of City’s 3-2 victory against Fulham, is considered to be one of the most unusual occurrences in the Premier League.
The Spanish winger even got a head start on Walker before Traore sprinted past City’s captain to go through on goal. Walker even had a head start on Traore.
In spite of the fact that he acknowledges that he ought to have used his arm to block Traore, the 34-year-old argues that the Fulham midfielder was too powerful.
“The fact that Adama Traore would be able to defeat me with relative ease is something I want to address,” During an episode of the You’ll Never Beat Kyle Walker podcast on the BBC, Walker spoke.
“I just base myself on the fact that I’m quick. I thought that I had him, but that’s not an excuse; he beat me fairly and squarely, but I’m going to remember it,” she said.
“My arm ought to have come across, but you know, when I start running backwards [towards goal], nine times out of ten people just stop,” he said. “However, he obviously backs himself up so much, just like I do, and he thought, ‘I can actually catch this.'”
“And the very next moment, he is indeed standing in front of me, and I have attempted to give him the arm in order to attempt to claw a little bit back, because he is that powerful.”
From what I’ve seen, it seems as though he could be right there with me. His stride is tremendous, and he is around 6 feet 7 inches tall. [Micky] Van de Ven is really swift.
“It’s not bad in 18 years, and it’s the first time someone can actually say, probably [Ousmane] Dembele, I used to get that clip all the time when I’ve sprinted to him when we played France away, I sprinted to him, and he’s actually already running the other way, and everybody’s clipping it, ‘oh my gosh, Kyle Walker just got smoked,'” said the player.
On the other hand, the fact that they were so shocked is not a bad reaction; it indicates that I am certainly doing something correctly.Traore, on the other hand, disclosed that he was given a box of baby oil as a present after joining Fulham. He applies the oil to his arms in order to prevent defenders from hanging themselves onto him.
Not only that, but Traore disclosed that after joining Fulham, he was given an entire box of baby oil in an effort to assist in preventing defenders from holding him.
“The doctor recommended it to me after I had an injury to my shoulder,” Traore said in an interview with El Larguero.
He informed me that they had taken a look at the pictures and that they were attempting to prevent me from moving by grasping my arm. First, I assumed he was making a joke about the oil when he told me about it.
“When I used it for the first time, the defender saw me and asked me what was wrong with my arm, which was slipping,” I said. After that, I arrived in Fulham, and a company had already sent me a whole package.
