Juventus striker Vlahovic says, “I have decided to join Arsenal by January, but only under one condition.” He identifies the one requirement that could allow him to do so.
Arsenal is thinking about moving forward with their ambitions to recruit a new striker, and they are currently attentively examining Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus as a January target.
According to CaughtOffside, sources who are closely familiar with Arsenal’s plans have told them that the north London powerhouses have been eager to add a new center-forward and that they would be willing to wait for Benjamin Sesko to arrive next summer.
However, as the Serbian international does not appear to be moving forward with a new contract with the Serie A powerhouses, Vlahovic’s contract status at Juventus has put Arsenal on high alert for a possible January signing.
As CaughtOffside is aware, Juve has also been considering Sesko as a possible target to usurp Vlahovic’s place up front, which might have a cascading effect that Arsenal can exploit.
Arsenal’s transfer of Dusan Vlahovic is a boost?
Given that Arsenal is prepared to step up their chase of a signing up front and Juventus is unwilling to lose Vlahovic on a shoestring, it might be advantageous for them to let the 24-year-old go this winter.
This may work out well for everyone because AFC could use Vlahovic to aid them this season, and Juventus could use the roughly €60 million transfer money to help them acquire Sesko in the summer.
Vlahovic may not be the top objective for most Arsenal supporters, but he has demonstrated exceptional talent throughout his career in Italy, and it would be difficult to argue that he is not a better option than the struggling Gabriel Jesus.
