Joao Cancelo is determined to remain at Barcelona beyond this season and has firmly rejected the possibility of playing for any other team.
In January 2023, the Portuguese full-back was dismissed from Manchester City due to his negative response after losing favor with Pep Guardiola. Following his time at Bayern Munich, where he achieved victory in the Bundesliga, he was subsequently leased to Barcelona for the ongoing campaign.
Cancelo is now under contract with City until 2027. Barcelona does not have the option to purchase Cancelo in the summer, unlike Bayern, who had the option but chose not to exercise it. Cancelo has made 31 appearances for Barcelona this season, playing in both the right-back and left-back positions. He has scored three goals and provided four assists.
