Jadon Sancho looks to like his time at Chelsea, as seen by his comments following Manchester United’s most recent defeat.
On Sunday, the Red Devils delivered a dismal effort against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford. They had the worst conceivable start following Brennan Johnson’s early opening.
Bruno Fernandes’ red card made things difficult until Dejan Kulusevski extended the score shortly after halftime. Spurs completed an overwhelming victory late on via Dominic Solanke.
The defeat places United 12th in the table, their joint-worst start in Premier League history. It also increases the pressure on Erik ten Hag, who is currently on very thin ice.
And Sancho, who is now on loan at Chelsea ahead of a permanent move next summer, opted to cause some trouble, albeit it is unclear whether this was intentional. Minutes after the final whistle at Old Trafford, he shared a tweet from the Blues’ official account.
It included an image of him celebrating with teammate Cole Palmer after Chelsea’s 4-2 win against Brighton. The caption included a blue heart and a happy emoji.
Sancho has had a promising start to life since arriving to Stamford Bridge. He has already contributed three assists in as many games for Chelsea. He was also denied his first goal for the club due to a close VAR offside ruling.
Following his strong start, he stated, “Overall, I was just happy to play at Stamford Bridge for the first time as a Chelsea player.” It was a wonderful sensation, and I was grateful for the welcome I received from the fans.
“It was a terrific sensation [to receive a standing ovation from the fans], and my family and friends were in attendance for the game, which made it even more meaningful. I’m pleased to have been able to assist for goals in recent games; I’m fitting in well here, and all I want to do is keep this momentum continuing and continue to assist my teammates. Or even score your first goal, that would be great!”
