Over his time as a member of the Manchester City first squad, Phil Foden has worked with a wide range of outstanding players.
Since making his senior debut for the Citizens in 2017, the Englishman has played in 270 games across all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s squad. In this period, he has played with over sixty other players.
The 24-year-old must now decide between two of the most important teammates he has played with while wearing a City shirt, even though he is now concerned with international concerns with England in the 2024 European Championship.
Phil Foden decides which David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne is better.
On the talkSPORT TikTok channel, Foden took part in a winner-stays-on challenge where he had to choose between particular midfield players from the past and present according to his personal choice. The footage was just posted online.
When asked to choose between David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne, Foden said what follows.
Some legends from City are Silva and De Bruyne.
In 436 games in all competitions, Silva finished his ten-year career with City with 77 goals and 130 assists. The Spaniard was rewarded with a statue outside the Etihad Stadium.
On the other hand, in 382 games, De Bruyne has 102 goals and 170 assists.
It makes sense that Foden selected Silva above his current City teammate, considering that he has already declared Silva to be his footballing idol.
Nevertheless, considering the achievements the Belgian and Spaniard have made to City, we think they should both be considered club legends.
If Foden is able to follow his current trajectory and grow to be as important for City, there should be no doubt that he will leave a legacy akin to that of Silva and De Bruyne.
