Manchester City has established a favorable reputation for attracting talented players from South America, and they are on the verge of acquiring a promising young superstar.
Argentine striker Sergio Aguero has been honored with a bronze statue, while his compatriot Julian Alvarez has been successful since joining from River Plate. Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus has also made an impact after leaving for Arsenal.
Savio, who now plays for Troyes, a second-tier French club, is rumored to be the next European player to join City. His signing promises a promising future for the team. The winger has performed exceptionally well this season while on loan at Girona, a team competing for the La Liga crown. Girona, like Troyes, is also part of the City Football Group, which includes Manchester City.
City are advancing in their efforts to sign Savio despite facing competition from multiple Bundesliga and Premier League clubs.
Savio, who is 19 years old, has scored seven goals and provided seven assists in the current season. He has started all but one of his 23 league matches. The player, who has represented Brazil’s Under-20 team six times, was temporarily playing for PSV Eindhoven during the last season, where he provided two assists for the senior team.
Savio gained recognition in Europe in 2020 when he was 16 years old, after successfully making it into the first-team squad of the Brazilian club Club Atletico Mineiro. At the age of 18 in 2022, he transferred to Troyes, but he has not yet played his first match for the team.
The adolescent primarily operates on the left wing, however he has also been deployed on the right wing and occasionally even in the number 10 position. Savio’s tenure with Troyes is set to continue until 2027, while his loan stint at Girona is scheduled to conclude in May.
